Sadly, for some unexplained reason, the 'Club's Officers' rarely seem to visit the forum. If they do there is no evidence of them having done so if posted replies are any guide.

Chris,

We did get a visit from a comedy member THIS year. But that was only to check a couple of photo's in a posting. .....Did not post anything though!

One guy has not visited at all and others date back to (latest) 2015. And that was only in defence because of the s..t flying about the spares chap.
Not sure if that subject has been sorted out to date.

The only possible explanation is the Club is for the "Officers" and the forum is for the "Lower Ranks".

But then, an "Officer" is pretty redundant if he has no lower ranks to command!
Regards.
Chas.

Well, I tried to upgrade the forum and broke it. Bit like saying I couldn't get a bolt undone and used too much heat.

So I've restored from backup, we're back as we were, I'll read up on what went wrong and have another go shortly.

Sorry for the delay.

And in other news I've been in touch with Michael Boast a couple of times over the last few months and he advises that the Club is in a position to transfer my management of the website to Julie, who does web design etc for a living and you might see the level of interaction increase. In truth, all of my time is going elsewhere and Julie's offer to take over is welcome.

The plan for that transfer is currently that:
- Julie will set up a Fasthosts account (to enable transfer of ownership of the domain)
- Julie will obtain hosting for the site going forward
- I will back up the current website, including forum and database and host it in downloadable form
- Julie will download the package and confirm it's usable
- I will transfer the domain ownership
- Julie (and I if needed) will upload the website, database etc to the new host.

On 30 Dec 18, I paid the latest bill for the domain (£11.99), which is now good until this December.

Does this mean then that those of us who view and access the VOC Forum will no longer be seen as "Pariahs ?!"

We shall wait and see with interest  Huh
