Polarizing Dynamo
#1
My Dynamo does not extinguish the charging light inside the car

its flickers on tick over and will sometimes go out if reved hard

i have read a few things about polarizing the dynamo or the voltage regulator to make the charging system work
does this have to be done on my 1935 14/6 ?

if so could any one tell me how

It is probably the cut out/ control box unit which needs the points cleaning or possibly a replacement unit. Mike ha replaced with those from a Morris 1000 on a couple of my cars

Yes, you can bypass this to a modern type control unit

Ask him to "polarize dínamo"; and be careful. If this is done incorrectly you burn it …..
